Anthem Giving Circle (AGC) assists families in need by helping to pay rent, utilities, medical expenses, or other bills. The St. Rose conference of St. Vincent de Paul meets with each family and coordinates the assistance requests, reaching out to AGC and other organizations to help. So far, 2023 has been a very busy year for requests and since March, AGC has given over $25,000 to families in need

The goal of Anthem Giving Circle’s annual Purses for a Purpose event is to raise money to be returned to the community in the form of individual grants as well as donations to schools and organizations. Held in February each year at Ironwood Country Club in Anthem, Purses for a Purpose attendees can bid on new and gently used purses during silent and live auctions, as well as purchase raffle tickets for beautiful designer handbags and gifts. This fun and entertaining event is always well-attended and has grown each year since its start in 2010. The event has a different theme each year– from the roaring 20’s and Western wear to last year’s Alice in Wonderland theme – attendees enjoy dressing the part! Purses for a Purpose brings together so many people with a unified goal of helping our community and neighbors – what could be better than that!

Anthem Giving Circle (AGC) teams up with thirteen area schools by providing them with hundreds of dollars in gift cards to use at their discretion. Each of our schools has an AGC member who serves as a liaison and works with the principal, counselor, or school nurse to provide support. The schools tell AGC how much the gift cards are needed and appreciated each semester!
Since 2019, Anthem Giving Circle (AGC) has donated thousands of new and gently used bras to support St Vincent de Paul’s program for women in need. While socks and underwear are often considered an “essential need” for many shelters, bras are not and AGC wanted to rectify this! The bras are collected throughout the year and are then delivered each September to the women’s shelter.

Each year, Anthem Giving Circle (AGC) is called upon to help put together hundreds of “fixing bags” for the Foothills Foodbank. These bags contain items that can be used to make side dishes and desserts for Thanksgiving and are given out to families along with a turkey or ham! This partnership with the foodbank is just another way AGC members are actively involved in our community.

Anthem Giving Circle (AGC) supports the Foothills Foodbank’s Adopt-a-Family holiday gift event. AGC provides $900 to this program towards the purchase of gift cards for families (these gift cards allow families to pick out their own gifts to celebrate the holiday). Additionally, AGC members donate many board games, blankets, and socks to go along with the gift cards.
